Seamless Transport of High-Value Cargo: EGL’s Strategic Project for SOPC

Egyptian Global Logistics (EGL), in its continuous commitment to excellence and precision, recently completed a sophisticated transport operation for the Suez Oil Processing Company (SOPC). This significant project involved the seamless transfer of two substantial boilers, crucial to SOPC’s operations. Here’s a detailed overview of how EGL orchestrated this challenging endeavor with flawless execution.

Project Overview

Client: SOPC.
Supplier: Termotecnica Industriale S.r.l, Milan, Italy.
Engineering Company: ENPPI.
Shipper: Aprile SPA, Genoa, Italy.
Vessel Name: Leopold Staff.
Port of Loading (POL): Brindisi, Italy.
Arrival Time at Site (ATS): 31st August 2024.
Port of Discharge (POD): Adabiyah, Egypt.
Arrival Time at Arrival (ATA): 6th September 2024.
Shipping Agent: Kadmar Shipping Co.
Transporter: Egyptian Global Logistics – EGL.
Commodity: Two Boilers.
Dimensions per Boiler: 9.80 x 10.14 x 5.97 meters.
Weight per Boiler: 145 tons.

The Challenge:

The primary challenge in this project lay in the sheer size and weight of the cargo. Each boiler measured almost 10 meters in length and width and weighed a massive 145 tons. Transporting such oversized and heavy equipment required meticulous planning, expert coordination, and the use of specialized transport equipment.

The Execution:

Stage One: Planning and Coordination

EGL began with an extensive planning phase, involving collaboration with the engineering company ENPPI and the Italian shipper, Aprile SPA. The initial step was to ensure that the route from the Port of Brindisi to the Port of Adabiyah was meticulously mapped out, considering all possible contingencies.

Stage Two: Loading and Shipping

Under the watchful eyes of experienced logistics professionals, the boilers were carefully loaded onto the vessel “Leopold Staff” at Brindisi. The operation was conducted using state-of-the-art cranes and rigging equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency. The transit was closely monitored to ensure that the boilers remained secure and undamaged throughout the sea journey.

Stage Three: Unloading and Onward Transport

Upon arrival at the Port of Adabiyah, the boilers were offloaded by Kadmar Shipping Company. EGL’s ground transportation team took over, utilizing heavy haulage equipment tailored for such massive loads. The final leg of the journey was executed with precision, ensuring the boilers reached SOPC’s facility on schedule.

The Result:

The boilers were delivered intact and on time, thanks to EGL’s rigorous adherence to safety standards and detail-oriented project management. This project not only underscored EGL’s capability in handling high-value, oversized cargo but also reinforced its position as a leader in the logistics sector.

Conclusion:

EGL’s successful completion of the SOPC boiler shipment project is a testament to the company’s dedication to logistical excellence and customer satisfaction. With a track record of handling complex logistics challenges, EGL continues to be a trusted partner for companies worldwide, proving that no project is too big or too complex.

This remarkable project will serve as a benchmark for similar future operations and demonstrates EGL’s robust capabilities in the field of project cargo transport.
