Sokhna Port Update: RSCT Commences Operations with First Vessel Call

We are pleased to inform you that the Red Sea Container Terminal (RSCT) at Sokhna Port is now officially ready for commercial operations. Operated by Hutchison Ports, RSCT is Egypt’s first fully automated and fully electric container terminal.
The terminal marked this milestone by receiving its first vessel, the M/V CMA CGM HELIUM (LOA 335m / Beam 51m), on 14th December 2025.
Key Terminal Specifications:
- Capacity: Featuring a 1,200 m quay length and 18 m draft.
- Cold Chain Support: Equipped with extensive reefer plugs (ranging from 1,100 to 2,000 units) to support advanced refrigerated cargo logistics.
- Sustainability: Setting new regional benchmarks for efficiency through its fully electric infrastructure.
RSCT now operates alongside DP World Sokhna, significantly strengthening Sokhna Port’s position as a regional hub.
